Ron Francis, owner of Palm Bay Beach Resort, announced today that Starfish, The Exuma Adventure Center, would be moving it’s office and Eco – Tourism Activities To Palm Bay, effective April 30th.
“We are very pleased to have Starfish join us at Palm Bay”, said Mr. Francis. “Having a Cacique Award winning company on property will greatly enhance our ability to provide a variety of water sports and eco-tourism activities to our guests”.
Starfish, winner of the 2007 Cacique Award for Sustainable Tourism, has been headquartered in Great Exuma for seven years, and offers a wide variety of activities and experiences, including guided kayaking trips, Elizabeth Harbor eco-tour, and snorkel trips. The company rents Hobie sailboats and kayaks. A signature program for Starfish, according to Manager Shanika Rolle, is the “CASTWAY GETAWAY” Starfish provides couples with beach chairs, tables, umbrellas, complimentary Exuma straw bags, and an underwater camera, snorkel gear, a deluxe picnic with beverages and a cell phone, then transport them to a secluded beach for a day of sun, fun and romance.
In addition to day trips, Starfish operates kayak and sailing expeditions in the Exuma Cays.
Palm Bay Beach Resort is an 80-unit resort, which features studios, one bedrooms and two bedrooms beachfront and harbor view cottages. The resort’s “Splash “ Restaurant and Bar is a favorite with both locals and visitors. The addition of Starfish will provide a host of new, professionally operated activities to supplement the two pools, pier, and beach which currently attracts visitors from a number of countries.
